Well, I searched quite some time to get a good .deb-package of the J2SDK 1.4.2 in the internet. There are a couple of "download it for yourself and create your own package"-kind of packages, like this one. But after looking you will probably also find a nicer one. This Weekend was kind of special ๐Ÿ™‚ First of all, a friend of mine picked me up and we drove to France (round about 250km) just to go shopping and having some fine wine and a real good meal. To use this real nice card (it uses an Atheros chipset) you should download the madwifi driver from sourceforge (MadWifi) You should compile a new kernel and also this driver and then you can use this driver. At the moment I still have to load the driver manually, and also link the driver to the network with ifconfig. But I think that this can be done automatically as well.

I installed debian on my laptop (a nice Sony Vaio GRX-616MP). It is running smoothly now. I have had a couple of prolems with the X-Server (Gnome). These are now fixed, and I can now use X with the highest possible solution on this laptop (1600*1200). Tomorrow I am going to install Eclipse and will see, how it runs. Currently there is still Windoze on this machine installed, but up until now, ther...
